Spurs may face opposition for their pursuit of Memphis Depay in the form of Manchester United after Lyon director Juninho revealed that the Red Devils had a first option to re-sign the Dutch international in the event of interest from other clubs.
The struggling Lilywhites are reportedly ready to stump up £50m for Depay and re-unite him with former teammate Tanguy Ndombele. Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has also admitted that a move to the Premier League for Memphis would not only be beneficial for him, but also the entire Oranje lineup.
Depay struggled at Manchester United after moving to Old Trafford from PSV but appears to have found a new lease of life at Lyon. However Les Gones have had a terrible start to the new Ligue 1 season- they’re languishing in 14th place after 13 games.
Their Champions League form has been much better, and that’s primarily down to Depay, who has found the back of the net in each of their four group games in Europe. OL are currently second in Group G behind Leipzig.
Depay is contracted to OL till the end of the 2020/21 season, and is yet to ink a new deal with Les Gones.
