Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has reportedly stated that he doesn’t believe that transfer target Robin Van Persie will be signing for his club this summer. The Arsenal striker had previously been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.
However, City boss Mancini is quoted to have said “Van Persie? No, I don’t think he will come here.” It could be fresh development in what has become the transfer story of the summer. City’s rivals Manchester United are looking like favourites to sign the Dutch international midfielder.
Italian champions Juventus were believed to have shown an interest, but seem to have switch their attentions elsewhere. The player has less than a year left on his contract with the Gunners and looks almost certain to leave this summer and Manchester United looks likely to be his destination.
