According to reports, Manchester United are looking to add fullbacks to their squad in January and have identified Norwich City youngster Max Aarons as a potential target. Manager Erik ten Hag has openly spoken about the depth required in that position given the number of games the Red Devils have to play this season.
At this moment, Ten Hag has Portuguese international Diogo Dalot as his first-choice right back. The club also have Aaron Wan-Bissaka on their books, but the former Palace star seems to have been frozen out at Old Trafford, with Ten Hag simply not rating the 24-year-old.
United are likely to let Wan-Bissaka leave and are eyeing Aarons, who is reportedly valued at around £10-15m, as a potential replacement. The Red Devils’ scouting team have also looked at Jeremie Frimpong, the former Man City youth player who now plies his trade for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.
Aarons has been a regular in the Championship for Norwich, starting in all of their opening 17 games of the 22/23 season before being on the bench for their 3-1 win over Stoke. By comparison, Wan-Bissaka has had only four minutes of Premier League football this season- off the bench in their win over Liverpool back in August.
