Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is set for talks with Premier League rivals Fulham over a move to Craven Cottage. A fee is already believed have been agreed between the two clubs and Berbatov now looks set to move to the Cottagers.
Berbatov has snubbed moves to Italy’s Serie A with both Juventus and Fiorentina interested in securing his signature. Both clubs had bids accepted, but Berbatov wants to stay in England for family reasons and a move to Fulham seems like the best available option.
United had exercised a clause in the Bulgarians contract this summer to extend it by a year, so that they wouldn’t lose the player for nothing. Berbatov would have been a free agent without the clause and able to move wherever he wished with no fee involved.
Fulham have money to spend after selling Belgian international midfielder Moussa Dembele to London rivals Tottenham yesterday for £15million.
