Aston Villa are believed to be in talks with Genk striker Christian Benteke. The 21 year-old Belgian international has been described as ‘the new Didier Drogba’ and Villa boss Paul Lambert will be hopeful that he can clinch the signing of the striker.
Villa have yet to agree a fee with his Belgian club, but a compromise is expected to be reached so that the youngster can make the move to the Midlands. Villa are in desperate need of new attacking players.
The Villans have already added young striker Jordan Bowery to their squad. The 21 year-old joined from League Two Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee, but Villa are still looking to add their squad before the window shuts.
Villa are also believed to be interested in signing Crewe’s midfielder star Ashley Westwood. The 22 year-old is highly-rated and has been linked with moves to the likes of Everton and Fulham in the past few seasons.
