According to reports in the press, Aston Villa are quietly confident of landing former Spurs and Wolves strike Robbie Keane in time for their Premier League fixture against Everton next week. Keane’s current club LA Galaxy have given the go-ahead to the move, with Keane also said to be eager for a switch as it allows him regular competitive football prior to Ireland’s Euro 2012 campaign.
Keane’s Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan has already agreed to a move to Everton, meaning that the two team-mates could potentially square off against each other in Keane’s return to the Premier League.
Keane is expected to sign a two month loan deal, with Galaxy being paid £500K as loan fee.
