Aston Villa have officially announced the signing of teenager Kosta Nedeljkovic from Red Star Belgrade. The youngster has moved for a reported fee of around £6.5m (plus potential add-ons), but has been loaned back to his parent club for the remainder of the season to aid his development. Nedeljkovic also becomes Villa’s first signing of the January transfer window.
The 18-year-old only broke into the Red Star senior squad earlier this season and also featured for them this season in the Champions League against the likes of Man City and Leipzig.
Nedeljkovic has also previously spent time on loan at Graficar (2022/23) and it was his performance during this loan stint that catapulted him into the senior setup at Red Star in 23/24 after Barak Bakhar took over the reigns at the club.
The young right back has signed a contract that will keep him at Villa Park till 2029. He has also been capped by Serbia at various youth levels, but is yet to feature for the senior side at international level.
Villa are currently fifth in the Premier League, five points behind leaders Liverpool at the time of writing. Their next Premier League clash is against Newcastle at home.
