Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed that the club have had an enquiry from Sunderland AFC for the services of star striker Kevin Davies. Black Cats manager Martin O’Neill is looking for a temporary replacement for Danish international Nicklas Bendtner, who is out with a broken nose, and Davies, who has a wealth of experience with him, fits the bill correctly.
Davies has been an inspirational figure for Bolton in recent years and is easily their most recognizable player. However he has only scored twice in the current season and his contract, which expires at the end of the 11/12 season, hasn’t yet been extended.
Coyle however did admit that he would prefer to hold on to Davies instead of selling him to the Wearsiders.
