West Bromwich Albion have added Argentine international Claudio Yacob to their ranks. Yacob was a free agent after being released by Racing Club de Avellaneda and was training with the Baggies with a view to a permanent switch to the Hawthorns. He has now put pen to paper a three year contract with the Midlands outfit and the deal only needs to be rubber stamped to become a formality.
Yacob becomes new Baggies boss Steve Clarke’s third signing of the summer after Ben Foster and Yassine El Ghanassy.
Yacob, 25, was appointed as Racing’s captain in his teens and has been one of the clubs’ most influential players. He has also been capped by Argentina at international level.
