West Ham have agreed a permanent deal to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll for a fee believed to be in the region of £12million, growing depending on appearances and achievements. The England international striker has impressed at the Boleyn Ground, when he has been available to play.
The Merseyside giants signed Carroll for £35million from Newcastle in 2011, but the striker failed to settle at Anfield and scored just six times in 44 Premier League appearances. He joined West Ham on-loan last summer and looks to have done enough to secure a permanent move to the East End.
Liverpool meanwhile are looking to strengthened their backline with the signing of Manchester City centre-back Kolo Toure. The Ivory Coast international has been out-of-favour Eastland’s for the last few seasons.
Toure is out-of-contract in July and is free to leave Manchester. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to replace Jamie Carragher, who has retired from playing. It seems that Rodgers sees 32-year-old Toure as the ideal replacement for the veteran defender.
The Reds are also monitoring the situation of young Leeds defender Sam Byram. The youngster has impressed in a Leeds team that has struggled for consistency this season. Byram is rated in the £7million bracket and has also attracted the interest of Liverpool’s arch-rivals Everton.
