West Ham United have officially completed the signing of former Man City and Arsenal star Samir Nasri on a free transfer. The 31 year old midfielder has put pen to paper a short term deal that will see him stay at the London Stadium till the end of the current 2018/19 season, with an option of a further year’s extension built into the contract.
Nasri has been training with the club over the last few weeks and has impressed Pellegrini enough to earn a new deal. The Chilean has worked with Nasri before at Man City and reckons he’d add depth to the West Ham midfield, with the likes of Carlos Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini all currently missing from action.
The Hammers have been forced to depend heavily on the trio of Declan Rice, Pedro Obiang and veteran Mark Noble in the middle of the park this season, with the rejuvenated Robert Snodgrass also filling in from time to time.
Nasri is however not expected to feature in the Hammers’ midweek tie against Brighton, with rules apparently preventing him from appearing in GW21, and is likely to make his debut in their FA Cup tie against Birmingham City.
