West Ham United have completed the signing of Israeli defender Tal Ben Haim on loan from Portsmouth. Ben Haim has joined the Hammers on loan till January 2011. The move reunites the Israeli international with current West Ham boss Avram Grant, who was previously his manager at both Chelsea and Portsmouth.
Ben Haim thus becomes West Ham’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window after Thomas Hitzlsperger, Pablo Barrera and Frederic Piquionne.
West Ham have also revealed that the club’s officials are working towards completing a deal for a young player who represented “his country with distinction” at the 2010 World Cup.
