Former Chelsea and Birmingham City striker Mikael Forssell has completed a shock transfer to Leeds United. The Finnish international was a free agent after parting company with German outfit Hannove 96 and was quickly snapped up by the Whites. Forssell has put pen to paper a season long deal at Elland Road and Whites boss Simon Grayson regards him as a very astute acquisition.
Forssell has been training with Leeds in the last few weeks. He still remains an international regular for Finland and netted on international duty a few days ago.
Forssell was also linked with Leeds’ Championship rivals West Ham and also had a trial with Sam Allardyce’s men at Upton Park before eventually signing for the Elland Road outfit.
