Honduran international Roger Espinoza is in talks over a move to the Premier League with Wigan Athletic. The midfielder currently plies his trade in the MLS with Sporting Kansas City, but his contract expires at the end of this year.
The 26 year-old has impressed in the American top flight and is now looking to move on to a bigger league. The Latics are currently working on paperwork to bring the player to the English top flight in January and Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is optimistic that a deal will happen when the transfer window opens.
Wigan have a history of signing Honduran players with the likes of Henry Thomas and Wilson Palacios having played for the club. Espinoza’s City teammate Matt Besler could also be making the move to the Premier League.
The 25 year-old centre-back is highly-rated and is set to be offered trials at English top flight clubs in the January transfer window.
