Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of French striker Yann Kermorgant on a free transfer. Vannes born Kermorgant, a product of the Rennes youth academy, was a free agent after being released by Leicester City earlier this summer. He spent the latter half of the 2010-2011 season on loan at Arles Avignon.
Kermorgant has signed a two year deal with the Addicks. The presence of current Charlton boss Chris Powell, who was part of the backroom staff at Leicester when Kermogant used to ply his trade for the Foxes, is said to be a big factor in his decision.
With the addition of Kermogant, Charlton have taken their number of acquisitions in the summer window to a staggering 19.
