Wolverhampton Wanderers are all set to land young Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong on loan. The 19 year old will stay at Molineux till the end of the season and Wolves sources have confirmed that the transfer is all but done and will be officially announced when the window opens. Frimpong reportedly had a choice between Villa and Wolves but chose Mick McCarthy’s side and has already undergone a medical.
Frimpong is thus poised to become Wolverhampton’s second signing of the January transfer window after Eggert Jonsson. Mick McCarthy opted to swoop for him after Jamie O’Hara was sidelined with a hernia problem.
Ghana born Frimpong has been with Arsenal since 2001 and is expected to make his Wolves debut on Monday against Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea.
