Zaha to leave Eagles?

According to reports, Wilfried Zaha has expressed his desire to leave Crystal Palace this summer and would ideally like a deal to be done before pre-season training for the next campaign begins. The 28-year-old has two years left on his current deal at Selhurst Park.

Any potential move for Zaha is also good news for his former employers Manchester United, who inserted a 25% sell-on-clause when they let the Ivorian star join Palace back in 2015. The likes of Arsenal, Everton and Spurs have all been linked with Zaha in previous transfer windows, and there will be no dearth of interest if Palace agree to sell the winger for a competitive price.

Zaha is a Palace youth product who moved to United back in 2010, but never quite settled at Old Trafford and was shipped back to Selhurst Park following a series of loan spells. He has racked up close to 400 appearances for Palace across his various stints at the London club.

Palace finished 14th in the recently concluded 2020-21 season, with Zaha finding the back of the net 11 times for them across all competitions.

The 28-year-old has been capped by England at junior level, but switched allegiance to Ivory Coast back in 2017 and has made 20 appearances for them so far.
